Platform Rules & Moderation Guidelines
SaaS Rivals operates as a transparent, commercial B2B software discovery directory. These guidelines establish our bidding mechanics, content restrictions, fraud safeguards, and dispute resolution standards.
Bidding & Dynamic Ranking Rules
Nature of the Service: SaaS Rivals provides digital advertising and promotional directory listings for software products. A “bid” represents a non-exclusive commercial sponsorship fee paid by a software founder or developer to feature their product on an alternative directory page (e.g., /rivals/jira).
- Transparent Formula: Leaderboard rank is determined solely by the verified cumulative financial sponsorship contributed to a specific incumbent category.
- Minimum Bid: The minimum initial sponsorship fee is $5.00 USD. Subsequent bids can be placed in increments to surpass competing challengers.
- Instant Automated Delivery: Delivery of the advertising service is immediate upon payment confirmation. Our serverless webhook infrastructure instantly registers and publishes the challenger listing on the designated public page within seconds.
- Non-Exclusive Placement: Rankings remain dynamic. If a rival software product contributes a higher cumulative sponsorship, they assume the #1 featured position, while existing contenders maintain their respective ranked listings on the public ladder.
User & Operator Eligibility Requirements
Participation on SaaS Rivals is strictly restricted to legitimate entities promoting genuine, functioning software products:
Authorized Representatives
You must be the creator, founder, developer, or authorized marketer of the software product. Impersonation of third-party trademarks, competitor brands, or unauthorized representation is strictly prohibited.
Operable Product & Real Operator
Submissions must represent a real, operable product or registered domain displaying valid, current company or operator details. Parked domains, dead links, empty placeholder landing pages, or generic link farms are strictly prohibited.
Permitted vs. Prohibited Content
We maintain strict content moderation standards to safeguard visitors, card networks, and payment partners:
Permitted Listings
B2B SaaS, developer tools, open-source software, cloud infrastructure, productivity apps, design tools, customer relationship management (CRM), AI tools, analytics, and software applications providing genuine commercial or community utility.
Strictly Prohibited Listings
- Adult, sexually explicit, or pornographic content/services.
- Gambling, betting, lottery, casino games, or speculative cryptocurrency tokens.
- Phishing, malware, spyware, trojans, ransomware, or cracked/pirated software.
- Hate speech, harassment, defamation, personal attacks, or discriminatory statements.
- Weapons, ammunition, illegal drugs, counterfeit goods, or unauthorized pharmaceutical sales.
- Deceptive, fraudulent, or non-functional landing pages.
Moderation & Review Process
Our moderation architecture enforces both automated filters and proactive human oversight:
- Pre-Submission Validation: Product names, descriptions, and URLs are automatically scanned for syntactic validity, profanity, blacklisted keywords, and known malicious domains before a checkout session is initiated.
- Daily Human Audit: The SaaS Rivals administrative team performs daily manual reviews of all newly registered and dethroned positions to confirm URL integrity and compliance.
- Right of Delisting: SaaS Rivals reserves the unilateral right to delist, suspend, or modify any listing that violates our standards or causes reputational harm, without liability.
Safeguards Against Fraudulent & Manipulative Bidding
Cardholder Verification & Anti-Carding
All transactions require real-time 3D Secure verification and fraud scoring through our certified Merchant of Record (Dodo Payments). Automated card testing and stolen card abuse are blocked.
No Payouts or Cash Speculation
SaaS Rivals does not provide financial returns, dividends, prizes, or cash payouts. All purchases represent final, one-way advertising expenses. This structural design prevents wash trading, speculation, and gambling motivations.
Idempotency & Replay Protection
Every webhook transaction is recorded with a unique transaction ID. Webhook replays or duplicate network events cannot inflate challenger rankings or total volume.
Unjustified Chargeback = Listing Revocation & Permanent Ban
Filing a bank chargeback, payment dispute, or payment reversal without a legally required basis (such as filing a dispute after being legitimately outbid by a competitor) constitutes a material breach of platform terms.
- Immediate removal and permanent deletion of the challenger listing.
- Complete forfeiture of all accumulated warchest sponsorship credit.
- Permanent domain, operator, and email blacklist from any future bidding on SaaS Rivals.
Dispute Resolution & Notice-and-Takedown Process
If you are a copyright holder, trademark owner, competitor, or customer who believes a listing violates intellectual property or our community guidelines:
